I realise that it is geeky and vaguely wrong of me, but I am actually grinning in delight at some of the stuff that's on here for National Science Week.
I mean, it's not that terribly exciting, but still...
Oh! The second weekend of it is the one that StAnza's on! So I will have to choose between physics and poetry... I think most of the science stuff that caught my eye was earlier - there was a talk by Dholakia but I've had him for lectures and... well, see if it clashes. I want to go to the meteorites one no matter what, because is meteorites and organic life, which is cool, and hey, this sentence is practically poetry anyway: "The carbonaceous chondrites often carry organic molecules which some scientists believe could have brought early life to Earth."
Still, that ought to be a fun ten days. I am going to do stuff! And I am not going to let bloody work get me down.
Also, Mim and I owe it to fandom to go to the first event. Because it is a joint reading (from his latest book) by Richard Dawkins and his wife Lalla Ward. And that is on the 10th.
I'm sure there's something else that day but I cannot think what. Something me, not public. Hmm. Perhaps I will recall later.
Dammit, I really have to go and work now. Seriously, seriously really do have to. Bugger.

Be sure to arrive early, for not many people fit into the room alongside his enormous ego.

He is in the Younger Hall, so there may be enough space.

I have no geeky badges about my person, and I could wear specs to look Clever. Also, the Canterbury Tales are sort of my thing and it's sort of derivative and... *bleeds*
