The one that tipped me over the edge was Rodney McKay, of all people, taking pills and going to jump off the pier because John had been ignoring him for three days. Seriously.
Ha ha ha ha! Where do people come up with these ideas? Seriously?! I feel like my ideas are so *boring* by comparison.
And that is really quite impressive.
Actually, I asked her about it and she said, 'probably about 15,' but she thinks she could do 20 of the smaller Pancreatin (pancrease enzymes) tablets and if she has to put a calcium tablet in the mix (they're big and chalky) then maybe only 10.
She also said (this woman is a pharmaceutical encyclopaedia) that painkillers and sedatives are usually tiny and designed to be taken under the tongue if you need to sedate someone in a hurry. You can put them in your mouth and they'll dissolve. I recall taking benzo-diazepan and Attivan and they were super-tiny (haven't tried to dissolve any under my tongue though). Morphine tablets are also tiny - I'm sure I could take a few of those if I had to. Apparently, some antibiotics can break apart forming rough edges which will cause your gag reflex to engage. Nice.
However, with most sedatives, a handful probalby wouldn't kill you. You'd go all sleepy though. I kinda had Rodney pegged as a gun-to-the-head type. I mean, he's serious - he plays at being a drama queen but when it comes down to it, I think he's quite selfless. He'd want to be no-fuss about it.
I can't believe we haven't got a "how would Rodney kill himself?" discussion going on a list somewhere...
