(no subject)

I got up this morning and went to my audition. And was a bit crap. But never mind.

Um. I am awake. And drinking beer. I ought to be working but I cannot be arsed.

1. Done conservation work in Iceland. I could actually make the entire list consist of things that I did while in Iceland, e.g. paddled in a glacial lake, got divebombed by a great skua, spent four days straight in damp socks, bathed in a hot spring every evening for a different four days... I never got round to typing up the rest of my diary from then, did I? Will have to do that at some point.

2. Dry-stone-walling. Which is fun. And which introduced me to BTCV, which was cool.

3. Spent six months fiddling with the design for my tattoo to get it absolutely perfect, only to draw it out a little too large so it had to go on a little further up. It's actually positioned really well for being above the straps of shoes, and such, but it wasn't quite intentional.

4. Cut my own hair on a regular basis. If that's not good enough, the first time I cut it, which was from nearly waist-length to shoulder-length, I used the scissors on my penknife. And that's a small penknife. Also, I donated the hair to charity.

5. I once modelled for a national newspaper. There was an article on teenagers, and the photographer had gone to my school. And so there was a little picture of five of us, on the front page (the "Articles Inside" bit, that is).

6. I was picked to take part in a geography quiz. Wait, let me explain. The team was supposed to be a 2nd year, a 3rd year and a 4th year. The 4th year dropped out. So I was asked. At the time, I was in 2nd year, and I hadn't been on the team originally because I was on the other half of the rotation and doing history classes at the time. So there were two 2nd years and a 3rd year, and we got through to the next round and got a day off school to go to it, and stuff. And the next year, the two boys that had been on the team with me were on the team again, with a random 2nd year, and they didn't get past the first round. Heh.

7. Another school thing, though I'll try to avoid any more academic stuff... I got all As at Higher. Not only that, they were all in the top band, which made the teachers very impressed, though banding had changed that year so it was not as hard as they made it out to be.

8. I read my own poem at an Open Mic night. And there was much angst in it.

9. I sing a male voice part, and have done so for several years, despite being female.

10. Um. Hmm. Well, when I was a baby a golf ball landed in my pram, which lead to the fence being raised at that side of the golf course, but that's not really something I did... Oh, whatever. Walked seven miles in the early hours of the morning to get home, when I could have stayed on a perfectly comfortable floor.

Poo. I do not feel like doing anything but I really really ought to. Meh.

Curse you and your top-bandedness! I got two band 2 A's and three band 4 A's. And one of the band 4 A's was in maths! That was obviously a mistake. The marker probably hadn't understood the subtleties of my working. Or maybe I lost one of the pages. But yeah, I support the watering down theory. That must be it. Nothing at all to do with the fact that I couldn't be bothered to study for half of them.
