I am here to squee because
edithmatilda did not squee enough dammit!
Pirates! Swords! Eyeliner! Johnny Depp! Orlando Bloom! Keira Knightley! Pirates in eyeliner with swords!!!
And we watched the Blooper Reel which is damn funny and the, um, Fly On The Set, which, aw, bless, little Orlando fucking up and feeling the need to explain everything he's doing because he is trying, he really is... And the Deleted Scenes, and... that scene with Jack and Will up at the chest (which obviously doesn't work in the script as shown), that would have been awesome. The film works better as is, but that scene, if they'd done that and CG'd it, so Jack walks up skeletal and then relinquishes the coin and. eee. and the lid slamming back is hackneyed but cool.
um, um, um... Gore Verbinski is such a geek.
The scars scene! The scars! With the... I quite liked Jack and Elizabeth's discussion, there, and there are a couple of lines which are repeated later on which would have. but the scars, oh me oh my. that. oh.
Most of my filmic squeeing has been done before, you see, so I'm concentrating on the stuff we looked at, but. ohhh.
Jack.
Anamaria is quite kick-ass, and Norrington is better than I remembered him - admirably snarky, at times, with the "quiet as the grave" and suchlike.
Jack! Jack Jack Jack!
Jack!
