Sep. 2nd, 2004 04:48 amI was flipping through an old notebook, reading quotes, thinking I really must get Firefly on video/DVD, wishing I had something to post.
Then the smoke alarm started beeping.
I thought, someone's burned something while cooking again. Then I thought, don't be daft, it's four o'clock in the morning and I'm not in Gatty.
Then I remembered the candles I left burning in my room because I was only going to go online for a little while - three hours ago. Ran upstairs to find that the one sitting on my bedside table had burned down, and instead of it just going out, there had been enough paper and suchlike around to start burning. And of course earlier I tidied my room and took the empty glasses downstairs so the most convenient thing to cart water was a small bowl, but it only took two trips to put out the fire, and the bathroom's right next to my room. But the smoke alarm would not shut the fuck up, and eventually paternal went up the ladder and took it down.
Gah. Feel so stupid. Also really guilty for rousing familials when they all have to get up in a few hours.
Doubt will sleep self, but that doesn't help anything.
And my room absolutely stinks of smoke.
Am going to go outside and have a fag.
