Am soberer than was - went out with parentals for dinner, wine was had. Am less sore, also - wandered glasgow a bit and walked home from ikea, where I purchased yet another dragon [not for me, though, this time].

Earlier, I was informed that straight white males are discriminated against. That they are the only group without activists, that any attempt to affirm their identity as such is seen as chauvinism, they're the only people still joked about in our P.C. world, etcetera. And I just...

It's the kind of thing I hate arguing anyway, because you are not going to change anyone's mind unless the problem is simply a vocabulary thing - like the girls who claim not to be feminists, because to them feminism is unshaven legs, Germaine Greer, etc. - and even then you'll have trouble.

And everyone believes they are the most hard done by. These are the end times and civilisation has never been so degenerate and surely nobody has ever been oppressed in such a way.

Men are scum.

If you instinctively agree/smile/whatever at that, you are being prejudiced/oppressive/whatever. And strictly speaking that's true enough, but it's not seriously believed, is it? Whereas something like, "oh, she's only a girl"...

God, I wish I hadn't started thinking about this again because now I'm uptight and won't be able to sleep. And I wish I had a proper argument, too, because I just end up gawping in bewilderment. It's like talking to a perfectly nice person who suddenly turns out to be rather right-wing. It simply makes no sense to me!
