First off, the pun made me groan.
I was dubious about this ep, because of the number of previous characters/concepts brought back. I enjoyed it, but it was variable in quality.
Things I didn't like:
I'm annoyed that the Bad Wolf thing was pointed out, because before it felt like a little secret for online or observant fans. But I guess it is next episode. And so that's the reason CE knew the Welsh, because it was in the damn show.
They could have chosen any time in the century to charge up. Why then? To include Mickey, who was largely extraneous, and there simply to yell at Rose and be a bit crap.
Oh, that reporter - she just had to be pregnant as well, didn't she? (and my head said that in a Welsh accent.)
I'll probably add to this later, when I'm further from the ep.
Things I liked:
"You'll have to buy me a drink first." "You're hard work." "But I'm worth it."
Mickey calling Jack "cheesy." And the Doctor "Big-Ears."
"The architect..." "It was raining, I couldn't stop my car."
Jack getting so enthused about the pan-dimensional surfboard. In fact, I really liked Jack this week, because he was all tech-geek - the others are off out and he's hooking up the board. I'm sure the gadgetry will swiftly annoy, but never mind.
Margaret ranting about how London doesn't care about the SouthWest, even though she intends to destroy it. So true.
Rose describing other planets - of course the waves of ice sound highly unlikely, in fact they probably don't obey the laws of physics, because a thing can only lose energy so fast, but it's DW.
The Doctor's little speech on the ways of a killer, and Margaret's response.
The Doctor's little speech about the TARDIS. "It's the best ship in the universe. It's alive. You've opened its soul." The TARDIS has a soul! I am much with the TARDIS-love right now. And he mentioned the chameleon circuit, which was in my fic the other day, so...
Only two more to go. Eee.
