Weekend away was fun. There was a lot of singing. Unfortunately I lost my voice late on Saturday. This afternoon we had a performance, kinda, to hear what all the other groups had been doing, and of course I couldn't sing but I did get to 'drum' for one song - using a big plastic bin. That was great fun. It switched between 5/4 (chorus) and 2/2 (verse), for those of you that are musical, hence why the drum was felt to be useful. Me likee. That one was vaguely Scots - we also had songs in French, German, Danish and Welsh.

Last night we had a ceilidh and I got all sweaty and also fell on my arse at one point and I danced and that was good. Aaaaand there was chocolate. And the band people got horrendously drunk. And I went to bed around midnight which was early and did not get woken by people coming in even though I sincerely doubt they were quiet. Aaand... hm. One of the girls that got very drunk (then) fell asleep on the bus on the way back this afternoon and they couldn't wake her up and had to carry her off the bus. Oops.

umumumumum. It was cold. And we were in dorms in bunk beds that had crappy foam 'mattresses'. And I slept fantastically. Because I was tired and vaguely unwell. And am still vaguely unwell. I feel all right, actually. I will probably feel crappy in the morning because the phlegm will have built up - don't you love it when you're coughing up slime? - but at the moment, apart from the thing where I can't speak - and it's not like I talk much anyway when I'm sitting in my room, though I do singalong sometimes, so when I went down for a shower I realised I'd forgotten that I couldn't talk - things are good. But I ought to sleep now, yes yes yes.

Hallo Ruth of joy. I want to invite you to a special experience. On Saturday February 24th my humble flat will be transformed into a rollicking maze of devious puzzles and taxing conundrums. There will be four zones, four types of game and a team of six lucky victims, i mean, challengers... yes... i am having A CRYSTAL MAZE PARTY!!!
