Are all writers of NC-17 truly voyeurs at heart?
I ask this because I was reading a meta which had several writers watching the boys fucking, and getting off on it. So. I ask.
Because really, what's the point in writing graphic sex if it doesn't do something for you? or other people?
um. yeah. that's all.

Date: 2003-01-22 02:36 am (UTC)that's a totally valid point, it's just that my post was prompted by smut. and I want to make an argument for it being different but all I can currently come up with is that there isn't a name for the emotional satisfaction you get from fic which isn't smut. so. yeah.
I mean, it's not like I'm saying it's a bad thing...

Date: 2003-01-22 08:24 am (UTC)I do tend to post before my brain gets into gear... Yeah, culturally the sex box is different from any other. Shouldn't be, but it is. Yeah, the satisfaction is different, but so is every other form of satisfaction I get from writing fic. You're right, there's no name for the other forms, but seems to me that's because western culture at least puts such a premium on sex. And that gets to me...
