Today I went into town because my room was due to be cleaned, and I spent about forty pounds.

I got a camera and earrings and notelets and jeans and shoes and six books.

Also there were CDs in my pigeonhole that I bought online.

So today is stuff day.

But I have high table tonight and do not know where we are supposed to meet as it says "senior common room" and I have not heard that term before.

Ho-hum.

In my experience the SCR is the room filled with elderly academics and chaplains drinking sherry. It will thus be easy to identify. Also, my one experience of eating at High Table involved a very old anthropologist telling the same anecdote three times and the bursar falling asleep.

There was sherry, but not the rest of it.

Turns out the scr is actually up a little hidden flight of stairs - I asked a neighbour who was here last year.

There was also port. I now have a headache.
