world = killing me

there are roadworks and there were sirens and I am awake and should be doing things and I have hunger which, OK, is fixable, and also the internet keeps crapping out on me. not badly, but enough to be annoying.

and I am stuck on a sudoku. admittedly, I did the first half while drunk, but it seems all right. and I am stuck. and annoyed. and generally hating on the world. grr.

ETA: cracked the little bastard. required writing it out again so I could see it clearly enough to spot the pair, but after that it was plain sailing. but dammit, it's the last one in the magazine-thing, I will have to buy a new one later. sigh.

Why has the world gone loud? I am sure someone has turned up the volume on the traffic. Clearly this is not an isolated phenomenon.

maybe it is due to open windows due to heat?

or maybe there is a volume control that someone sat on.

I just found a number-pair that I missed in the sudoku, and it may let me finish it. *crosses fingers*

My windows are always open unless howling storms are occurring. Therefore it can't be that. Must be the volume control.

The Times has a good backlog of sudoku, and usually a link to a special issue of billions of the buggers. And I'm certain there's at least one sudoku-generator website. If you search for 'google' you might find some way of getting to it.

there is websudoku.com and such, but I like doing them on paper, like a luddite, and our printer is annoying, so it's easier just to buy some. but I do like the killer ones, so maybe I will steal them from the Times. hmm.

That's fair enough. I used to be so lazy that I'd copy out the killer ones onto paper before solving them, rather than walk 20 feet into my bedroom and print them.
