Kindly note that I am not saying ew to the cannibalism, the cadavers, etcetera. I am saying ew to that last minute. I can't believe she shagged Owen! And Tosh has a crush on him - that was a lovely little bitchy bit, actually. I kinda loved that whole convo, in that sort of love that is cringing but compelled. "Lisa." Ohh!

um.

And the up-against-a-tree-thing was ew, and Owen in general was ew, and...

Ianto was good. He "took the liberty" and was competent and was scared but created an escape opportunity for Tosh and, yes.

Tosh was good, too. She actually had stuff to do this time. And yes, part of that was running around with clothing highlighting her breasts, but that's hardly her fault. [And next week looks like being her episode, so yay!] And apparently she has terrible taste in men - which I'd wondered about, from the site, because there are a couple of pictures of Owen under her section, and yet...

Jack... I'm wondering how true the torture thing was - I could go either way and be happy with it. He didn't need to yell like that while shooting. Um... bad command decisions, I felt, in the way he split the team up - sending the two 'weakest' members off to collect the vehicle which you know was taken by your enemy? not so smart, really. I know it was to keep Owen and Gwen together to provide opportunities for all that lovely touching and flirting and... *gags* And yet.

Gwen made a lot of bad decisions and was a crap polis. If I hadn't been watching with parentals I would have been yelling for her to knee Owen in the balls when he pushed her up against the tree. The subsequent hunting thing was quite cool, but then she utterly failed to cope with corpses - and yes, horrific etcetera, but still - and there was the thing with "ooh she die! oh wait it's pellets under the skin." And she lowered her gun, and she tried to interview a fucking psychopath and let him know that she cared about his answer, and. And. She. Shagged. Owen.

Owen was ew. He should have followed through on his threat to shoot the guy. Admittedly then the polisman would have shot him, but that would have been no great loss. I think, possibly, he has a genuine thing for Gwen? Which is worrying. And. I don't want to think about it.

Overall... well, fairly classic, really, small community turn out to actually be the monsters thought to be plaguing them. Pulled off reasonably well. The effects were fairly efficacious, some of the editing choices I, y'know, noticed, and I'm not sure whether that's good or not. I was glad to see more of the team, more interaction going on, but that last minute or two... *screws up face in disgust*

And I really ought to go do some work, but I might have to wait and calm down some first.

ETA: Guns. How amused am I that Jack has a little gun? Um, quite. Because Tosh and Gwen have those big square things, and Ianto's was less big but still quite chunky, as was Owen's iirc, and Jack has the old-style... Of course, it's an "I have nothing to compensate for" and could potentially be pretty souped-up, but... Yeah, I know, everyone else commented on this after Cyberwoman, but I'm slow, OK? And we hadn't seen all the guns properly, then.
