Dammit! I seem to have lost all my bookmarks. I use Firefox v. 5.0 and Windows 98. O flist of wonder and joy, hast advice?

Apart from that, all is well. Today at placement they were showing us things again and we got to see some really cool stuff - some early books, and such.

I have a cat on my bed. My back is sore, like OW not meh.

Sometimes your bookmarks disappear if Firefox can't load your profile when it starts up - it switches to a new profile. This can sometimes happen if it failed to close properly and you started it up again without rebooting. If that happened then you just need to reboot and it will be fine. If it's something else, it might be a bit more tricky to sort out...

Also, do you mean Firefox 0.5 or 1.5? Either way, an upgrade would be advisable. It's a bit risky to run an out-of-date web-browser because it will have all sorts of well-known and exploited security vulnerabilities. Then again, with Windows 98, Firefox may be the least of your concerns.

That's probably what happened - 'nando has a habit of freezing, once in a while.

It's 1.0.2, actually. And the thing is, dammit, I'm comfortable with things the way they are. With Win98, I know where everything is and I know how to do all the stuff I need to and fine, I'm being a Luddite and I really ought to look at my security again but at the same time, I don't really care.

Also if you tried a newer OS it might make your computer creak horribly in pain out of not being shiny enough. This is one of many reasons Amelia will not be running Vista, the others being "pointless expense", "why bother when she works now?" and "meh".
